Functions of a music video
Functions of a music video
The function of a music video is to promote the artist, and their music to the audience. Another function of a music video is to establish their place in the competitive music industry.
Normally, if performance based then a music video is to present the artist and their music. However if the music video is about the message within the lyrics, then the video will be focussed on the message rather than the artist.
One example of a music video which promotes the artist and appeals to the audience is Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood'. This video is performance based, which appeals to the audience as well as engaging with the lyrics of the song. This video draws in the audience and makes them want to see how it ends.

Our team is made up of Me (Megan), Georgia, and Karolina. We are making a music video based on the Indie genre. We plan to follow the conventions of this genre, and also make it appealing to our audience.
